and the host of Big John @ Breakfast. He has been running the breakfast show
for around 10 years. He has won many awards over the years for the show as well
as individual awards like radio personality of the year.
Janine Jones- Janine Jones is one of the
Co-hosts of Big John @ Breakfast. She is on the show to help converse with Big
John and help entertain the listener. She has been in Sheffield for over 10
years so is a local person who is passionate about the city.
Producer James- Producer James is another
Co-host of Big John @ Breakfast. He was born and raised in Sheffield so has
seen Sheffield change over the years. Being a local person he is able to have
conversations about the city with the other presenters and the listeners who
ring in for the broadcasts.
Drink Awareness Ad- This advertisement will
have been used on the breakfast show as most people who listen to the show are
old enough to drink alcohol and are likely to do so during the holiday period,
so using the advert here means that the people they are targeting are more than
likely the ones listening to the show. At the end of the advert a serious tone
is used, this connotes that the point made is a serious one and engages the
attention of the listener. This also connotes that Hallam are caring for their
community by helping to inform them about the dangers of alcohol.
Specsavers- The Specsavers advertisement uses
the voice of a confused woman, this connotes that without her glasses it is
hard to do the normal things in life. This will try and persuade the listener
to get their glasses from Specsavers to make their lives easier.
Hallamster- The Hallamster is a character
used on Big John @ Breakfast as it is a high voice, which aims to be funny. The
high voice connotes happiness and appeals to children as they are likely to be
in the car with their parents on the way to school so it helps add diversity to
the show to accommodate a younger audience.
